Are you sweating on Gallas’ knock?
MY first thought when I saw the headline “Arsenal sweat on Gallas knock” in the Sun online was “Am I?”
I’m not trying to shit stir, but could a minor knock be no bad thing if it forces us to try something other than Kolo and Gallas?
Who would be the answer?

There’s really only one answer, Djorou. The lad allready got his chance and in my opinion also took it. I’m surprised that Swiss hasn’t played more. If it’s Silvestre, that’s disrespectful for Johan.

It is a shame that it takes an injury to Gallas to force Wenger into trying a different partnership instead of the ability to recognize the failure of the Toure/Gallas partnership to galvanize.
The worrying part is (not purposely being facetious here either), that knowing Wenger, he’ll probably not make the obvious choice of Djourou or Silvestre as Gallas’ replacement and we’ll end up with a worse CB pairing like Toure/Eboue or Toure/Sagna with Silvestre at RB. I harken back to the end of last season when we lost Sagna and played Toure at RB when Eboue should have been the one to slot in.

Rhinogooner, it won’t be Eboue or Sagna. If it’s not Djorou or Silvestre, it’s Song. Actually, why to speculate, Gallas will be fit and ‘fine’ against Everton.

I’m not worried if Gallas is out - Silvestre or Djourou will do a good job.

Wat r u guys on abt? It will be Silvestre as Wenger would want him to have is debue, but if it aint him then its Song or Djorou. don know wat u talkin abt Rhinogooner. Wenger aint stupid how can he put Eboue when he has Djorou n Silvestre????? I’ve been wanting Djourou be a partner for EITHER Kolo or Gallas since before the nseason started.
Whether Gallas or Kolo aRE injured its time Johan was given his chance. Shit! We have already dropped points against teams we should be beating. I can’t see things getting much worse with the big Swiss!
Let’s face it, Wenger hasn’t strenthened the team adequately, so he mifght as well use this season to blood players like Djourou.

Hente, I agree with you. I was exagerating a bit. My point was relating to Wenger being overly clever at times and putting out a team that is weaker than the supporters expect. Like playing Song AND Denilson in a 4-5-1 against Sunderland with Van Persie on the wing instead of Nasri or playing 4-4-2. I mentioned as another example of when Wenger played Toure at RB last season when Sagna got injured. Those are two situations where Wenger did not make the changes we suspected he would. I’m sure there are more from the past but these came immediately to mind.
Personally I hope it’s Djourou as I’d like to see him paired with Toure for a few matches so we analyze if they are a more solid partnership than Toure/Gallas. And I’d really like to see Cesc with the armband but that’s dreaming…
To Jeremy, I would simply say - Eboue was originally a RB. He has since played RM and CM ahead of better players. No, I don’t seriously think Wenger would play him alongside Toure in the center of defense. My comment was meant to convey that Wenger has played some silly tactical formations before.

I think Wenger chose to play ANYONE other than Eboue at Right Back when Bacary was injured coz he simply doesn’t trust him there anymore. And considering the amount of times he loses the players he’s sposed to be marking as well as concentration, I aint surprised.

hopefully this partnership works and can last the remainder of the season, i highly doubt it tho, knowing wenger, as much as i respect him, i think he will end up pickin silvestre because of the experience… although i hope not

We will be lost without William’s outstanding defensive nous and churchillian leadership on the field. As he is simply irreplacable I think we should just play 10 men until he is back to full fitness and Arsenal can be great again.

By now we all know Arsene doesn’t do the obvious. Instead of using JD as partner to Toure, I can imagine him making a straight French swap (Mikael for Gallas) and that’d be typical Wenger
I can see that happening, we now wonder why we concede silly goals. JD has better potential in that position than Willy or even Kolo. All he needs is a run of games and confidence will follow.

I’m not upset at all that BOTH Gallas and RVP are out injured — something I would never have said last season. RVP has been playing with no drive or hunger this season, like he’s just there to collect his paycheck.
