Everton tonight more important than Arshavin
Victory tonight and on saturday and for 24 hours at least we will at most be one behind Chelsea and three behind Liverpool.
It is worth mentioning because Villa’s impressive form of late and stutters from the other two mean we are no longer in a straight scrap for fifth with the Midlanders who at 33-1 look a decent outside bet for the title.
How we cope with the aerial threat will be fascinating. Have we learned anything about marking? Will Cahill run free?
More generally will the less committed of our players be able to match the workrate of Everton? Will be interesting to observe.
The next seven days are very important… And not so much because of who we may or may not sign.

They’ll be no space tonight. Everton will go into the game looking like a 0-0 draw is good and yet they will always beleive that at some point in the game they can grab a goal from somewhere - most probably a set piece. Arsenal will need to be at their best, with lots of movement in the box, to beat Everton.

Does anyone know if the game is on any of the dodgy channels tonight ? Can’t find it on http://www.myp2p.eu yet and couldn’t find any of the premiership games last night which is a bit of a worry.

They are a quality side and if we don’t perform we will be turned over. They are strong and organised and great at set pieces. Far better Arsenal teams have come unstuck at Goodison park. The players have to work and give each other options tonight.
I personally have major doubts over a lot of players and think tonight is the first serious test we have had in a while. It will tell us a lot about how good the team really are.

If you’d offered me 1-1 before the game I would probably have taken it but fuck me that performance was rubbish. Thank god for RvP.
Can people please, please not mention any more about us sneaking back into the title race. There’s a thin line between optmism & insanity.
Just pray for 4th & hope that Arsene wakes up during the summer & sorts things out. Yes, we have a lot of young players but this squad is quite simply not capable of winning the league. Ever.

Some credits to Everton are in order maybe? They were insanely committed.
Agreed that 1-1 away there is a decent outcome after all.
We were overrun after their goal but until then our makeshift midfield was battling valiantly. It was a very odd decision to play a 4 man midfield considering Everton was playing with 6 midfielders like they were against Liverpool. I mean Liverpool were struggling against them with a 5 man midfield with Gerrard in it, what made Arsene think we would cope with 4 midfielders? It was even made worse with Clichy and Sagna not pushing forward. At times it looked like they were only blues playing in the middle. We’re lucky to get away with that choice and Arsene should be very thankful to the boys who gave it all until the very end.
I hope Sagna did not pick up an injury but at least we got Eboue to cover for him…
Congrats to our away fans. The home crowd was so loud that the sound was clipping and still our support was clearly heard. Thanks guys!
