Bitter loser Brown forgets how we applauded Hull… As corner flag boy Arshavin shows his class

(Am currently moving the site to a new server, so apologies for the whole host of problems…)

A FEW very, very quick thoughts as I’m writing this at 11.30pm and I have to be up at 5.

Let’s address the controversy first: For a start Hull WERE blatantly time wasting. The miracle was Riley took so long to address it. But even if they weren’t (and they were) it is the prerogative of every fan inside the stadium and also the home team manager to claim they are and to pressurise the referee into speeding up the game.

It’s what the northerners call creating an intimidating atmosphere, cranking up the pressure, being the 12th man. Phil Brown, he of the team talk on the pitch, seems incapable of accepting a southern side doing such a thing.

If Nasri’s free-kick only touched an Arsenal player when everyone jumped for it, then yes, it was clearly offside. If, as Arsene argues, it came second off the keeper then according to the rules (which I personally think are wrong) Gallas would probably be no more offside than a player intercepting a stray backside.

Either way, let’s make no bones about it: the fact your keeper had been booked (correctly) for time wasting had sod all to do with the goal. Your lot were also, by any standards, on the ropes. So it was one bad decision that had nothing to do with us appealing to referees or anything. We’ve had it many times before.

As for Wenger deliberately not shaking your hand, that’s highly unlikely. Had we lost, I could vaguely countenance it. But when we’ve won? Pur-lease.

Brown went on to say Fabregas spitting at his feet “shows what this club is all about”. We will deal with the spitting in a second, but I’d point out to Brown this is the club who almost to a man praised your side for their excellent performance at the Emirates earlier in the season and whose fans stayed behind to applaud your players off the pitch. Short memories eh?

Onto Fabregas. For a start, if he did it he shouldn’t have, though quite why he would out of the blue, without provocation, following an Arsenal win, spit at one of your guys, I don’t know.

Secondly, even if he did spit, I for one am not getting drawn into the pathetic, peculiar English obsession over spitting. I write this as an Englishman, but few things in football have infuriated me more than the pathetic obsession over Vieira spitting at Ruddock.

Respected websites were last night leading on the spitting incident. The funny thing is had Cesc just a put a guy out of action for six months with a high tackle, it would have garnered far less interest.

So, go in two footed on a guy’s knee by all means. Break his jaw with an elbow? That’s cool. But spit at him? In this warped, twisted logic it is somehow THE WORST THING IN THE WORLD EVER, particularly when a foreigner does it and the Englishman receives.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not pretty. But get over it and yourself. The logic of the Vieira incident, as it happens, is so warped that Ruddock was still painted as the victim despite his racist “garlic breath” comments following it.

Fabregas, it should be said, has completely denied the allegation. Brown, as it happens, was gesticulating at the Emirates crowd and clearly wound up long before we had even equalised.

Onto the football and Hull were excellent in the first half and deserved their lead, despite it being a very, very jammy goal. We were frankly woeful. They could have been two up with a couple of nearish misses. I haven’t seen the one that was given offside and chalked out but watching it in the ground it seemed Alex Song was being blatantly blocked off by a Hull player when he went to close it down on the edge of the box.

Second half was a different story.

We absolutely dominated and it was a near miracle Hull were still leading when we finally scored. Diaby had somehow headed wide, RVP had hit the bar, Arshavin had had one blocked, someone had one cleared off the line and Song was inches wide with the follow-up. You get my drift.

Bendtner did brilliantly for the goal, persevering when others (including Bedntner of a few months ago) would have given up. Then when it came to Arshavin, he could have shot but in fact the pull back was the correct option because firstly he did it first time and secondly he executed it properly.

I immediately thought our winner was miles offside but as I say, it was one bad decision. Nothing whatsoever to do with any agenda on the part of the officials. Were Arsene to suggest such a conspiracy he’d (rightly) face ridicule.

It was a stirring fightback and special mention goes to Bendtner for his work for the equaliser and Arshavin too. Not only is he very short, but he’s also actually smaller than the corner flag. Even Nasri is taller.

At one point we were ridiculously attacking: two forwards (Bendtner and RVP), two wingers who are basically forwards (Walcott and Arshavin) and in midfield another attacker (Nasri) and Diaby, who as well as sometimes playing as a second striker, went ridiculously attacking at times too. Classic Wenger and whatever the luck of the winner, it was enough to create an equaliser and a host of chances.

To Hull, I was one of those who clapped you off at the Emirates in September. Now I hope your manager takes you down.

  1. What city do you live in mate? Are you in Los Angeles?

  2. First?

Good article. I couldn’t agree more about Hull - second half they were so anti-football they deserved to have a dodgy goal against them. But then they got lucky in the first place for theirs. Quid pro quo.

Does Phil Brown wear that headset purely to look like a tit? I’ve never seen him actually use it

  3. London… I set the article to publish this morning but wrote it last night.

  4. Nice report GP.
I thought the team was too condescending in the first half hour probably thinking they were through already without having to put much of an effort. Passed that stage they did very well against a resolute Hull team resulting in a logical conclusion. I confess I was guilty of the same optimism, congrats to Hull who proved worthy opponents.
The refereeing was the worst I’ve seen in a while with an unbelievable number of plain wrong decisions. But the magic came for the crowd in the end, the best support in a long time even when we were 1 down and not playing very well yet. Thank you all at the Grove, I really hope the tide has turned for good because it felt really good to be an Arsenal supporter yesterday.

  5. DT,

Phil Brown runs a part time call centre dealing with issues like fair refreeing, football team management and ethics in football. He has callers from the north calling him all the time and its necessary that he wears that headset. Its not essential for him to wear the headset to look like a tit but wearing it reinforces his position as a leading tit in our country.

  6. I for one could not have hoped for a better way to beat those cocksuckers. Watching Brown in the stands chomping away, open mouthed, like a gorilla is disgusting! Then in the second half after a woeful and pathetic CHEATING challenge on Walcott that got their player booked, Brown jumped off his seat and applauded their player. He wants to talk about what the club is all about? He is a mini Allardyce with no tact and no idea how this game is meant to be played. After we equalized there was only one winner because there was only one team there playing in the second half. The fact that Gallas scored from a offside? So what…GOOD! It makes them hurt even more and I hope Brown didn’t sleep a wink last night.

  7. “particularly when a foreigner does it and the Englishman receives.”

That sentence IMO explains why Arsenal are not revered as the best attacking side this side of Barcelona, and even hated on in England. Its honestly quite ridiculous. If Wenger was a Brit- he would get the SAF treatment x10000%

  8. Great Article, I agree with your comments. The Goal may have been offside but it did come off the gloves of the keeper, hence it’s movement changed. That could be what the lines man was looking at and there for not off side. Not that it was orchestrated by the refs, fans or Wenger.

Phil Brown is a sore Looser, and he may have had some bad blood with Wenger in the past. After the Game the managers make their way to the tunnel Phil didn’t so why should Wenger go out of his way to shake this persons hand.

Then you go on and say the club is about spitting at his staff. Your team are not that good Phil! when we met at the Emirates in September we lost but our finishing was poor we should have won that game 4:2 the second game at their house again we could have won by more 1:3 acceptable though. When I look at it I’d take the 1:2 loss in September and win 2:1 in the cup!

Phil Brown let his Club down with his infuriating tactics and poor comments at the end.

  9. Our boys were brillian in the second half and bedntner deserves every credit for perseverance and his work rate was beautiful.

Money spent on Ashavin in my mind was well spent, onlyt wished we had bought him in the summer and not January. Waiting to see him play alongside Fab4.

  10. sexy piece mate. you’ve put everything into the right words.

  11. “Ooooh Fabregas gave me funny look in the tunnel” “oh my goodness, Sagna didn’t smile back at me after the game”

I would have spat in that wanker assistant manger’s face.

The one time Hull were time wasting, one player went to take a throw in, then passed the ball to another player to take the throw, who then went on to to pass the ball to ANOTHER Hull player - the camera panned to Phil Brown’s face in the stands and he was laughing gleefully like a schoolboy because he had OBVIOUSLY told his players to waste time.

I am proud that Fabregas came out onto the pitch after the game and told those Hull amateurs to get on there bus and f*ck of back to their loser city.

  12. Did anyone else notice the two footed tackle at Theo in the box during the first half?

I think it was Zayelete (?) - look at the photos available on the web (eg BBC site).

How was this different from any other two foot lunges? Theo didn’t complain but it would have been a much different story if the defender had connected with Theo’s leg…

  13. agree 100% however WG should not have been booked a fair tackle.if we look at all of the hull yellow cards all can be justified.hull clearly guilty of shame faced time wasting…..brown going onto tv straight after the game big mistake shot his mouth off did himself or his team no favours.lost count of the number of attacking players we had on the pitch and 23AA what aplayer

  14. Phil Brown has successfuly shifted the spotlight to Arsenal and Fabregas and away from his woeful team and their underhanded techniques.

There is something about Phil Brown that really gets under my skin, maybe it’s the stupid goatee or the silly mini-me Allardyce get up, sitting up there all smug with his headset looking like a real attention seeking git.

Anyhow it was plain to see that Wenger looked over for Brown and he was nowhereto be seen, why wasn’t he available for his precious handshake.

As for Cesc, if he did it then it wasn’t the best thing to do.

  15. Hopefully we wont have to play these losers again. They should go back to the championship, where they belong.

  16. I agree, Sniff. That two footed lunge was a straight red cars offence.

  17. Phil Brown…what a twat. Typical small team syndrome, reminds me of Neil Warnock; I hope Hull go down and never come back. The Gallas goal was not off side as the replays clearly show (it came off the keeper’s gloves), thats not to say I doubt the Lino could see that and it was fortunate.

We dominated the second half and on the whole deserved to win. Diarby, who I thought was average in the first half, showed some ‘Viera moments’ and is improving and once again, anything going through Arshavin looked sharp and incisive.

Comon the Arsenal..4th in the league, Fa cup winners & Chapions League winners…that would would be a reasonable return for the season…

  18. Remember Wrexham? 1992? Wrexham got a dodgy free kick. Arsenal equalizer disallowed for offside although the ball came off the defender’s head. All evens out in the end.

  19. This is a good result for Arsenal-in view of the number of games we are playing. Gallas was on-side I do not know what the fuss is about?. However if the game was played at Old Trafford the goal would not have been given. This is because English refs are influenced by the crowd and Ferguson.
Hull were awkward opponents who at times defended heroically but they did not do enough to still be in the competition.. I for one do not believe that Cesc spat at their asst manager and Brown is demonstrating his complete inability to manage his emotions at this level by raising it in the media in the way he has. We should make allowances for him in his first season in the big league. because if we took the insults he has made against the Arsenal seriously where would that take us? His allegation against Cesc is frankly embarrassing and childish.

  20. Great article…and not wanting to beat a dead horse any further, the reffereeing was simply pathetic…
However the one thing that was clearly apparent was the truly unsportsmanship behaviour displayed by Hull. Yes, their last encounter at the Emirates was great but the attitude and demeanour displayed by the Brown, his Brown-Noser and some of their players (Geovanni???) was uncalled for.
Did anyone notice the blantant time wasting by Hull up until the 74th minute and when in extra time, one of the players asked the ref to ensure the clock was stopped for Djourou’s injury ???

  21. One last thing…what a great new dimension AA23 brings to the attack…and he has only played his 4th or 5th game last night…AGAIN…hats off to AW…he most certainly knows…there is not many people who has his innate ablility to read the English game and know its demands…
Given…its been a hard 4 past seasons…but all us Gooners live for the day when our ‘young team’ blossom and start kick a$$.
    Soon my borthers….soon…

  22. I am so happy brown is this pissed off. I hated his guts BEFORE the second half. His antics in the limelight resembles a small-willied randy schoolboy trying to show off to the mingers @ the girl’s school through the fence next door. After the game, I’m delighted with his idiocy. Anyone with a brain can now see what trash this “man” is. Great article and I can’t wait to hear what Arseblogger has to say about him!!!

  23. Great blog GP.

I too was one of those that applauded the Hull players off the pitch in September, now I’ll be happy if I don’t see them at all next season.

    Come on you reds!

  24. Goal Attempts

    Arsenal 23 Hull 6

    On Target

    Arsenal 15 Hull 2

And this gook has the gall to moan about the referee. Put up a better performance you gutless glob!

  25. Two things ….

If the ref was that biased towards us, why did Gallas get booked and them given a free kick for one of the best timed tackles you’ll ever see? If I remember rightly this was what led to tow near misses for Hull. Haven’t heard either manager mention that …

And, is this the same Hull City who beat Sheffield United with a goal that never crossed the line? Or am I thinking of a completely differnt Hull City??? I don’t remember Phil Brown being too worried about that one.

  26. Why would a manager just make up a spitting claim, and as he is doing today take his claim to the FA? It’s fair enough complaining about officials and mangers at the end of a game etc etc but to claim a player (who wasn’t even playing) spat doesn’t smack of bad sportsmanship - there must be some truth in it. I’m sure it will all come out of the wash today when Brown takes his complaint to FA. As for spitting not being a big deal, its the snidiest dirtiest form of challenge there is, enough said!

  27. Did anyone notice that in Phil Brown’s comments on setanta after the game he stated that his assistant manager told him that Fabregas spat at him. A few minutes later on the radio he says that he witnessed Fabregas spitting at his assistant. Are those 2 stataments not contradictory?

  28. Considered and fair comments there Goodplaya. Thanks for the good read.

  29. did anyone notice phil brown stated in his first interview fabregas run on the pitch and spat at his assistant manager ,now he saying it was down the tunnel that he (spat at his feet lol),this is the worst case of sour grapes i have ever seen.but we couldnt of asked for a better way to come back and beat them ,that wiped the smile right of his shitty little face

  30. my wife even noticed that phil brown stated in his first interview fabregas run on the pitch and spat at his assistant manager ,now he saying it was down the tunnel that he (spat at his feet lol),this is the worst case of sour grapes i have ever seen.but we couldnt of asked for a better way to come back and beat them ,that wiped the smile right of his shitty little face

  31. Well if he has made it up then he’ll be in big trouble. He is a sore loser agreed, but to make a criminal accusation surely there must be something in it? Otherwise is pure lunacy!

  32. to be truthfull i cant see no wrong in spitting at the floor football players do it all the time if its in his face different story ,i think theres a lot more been said from there part ,that brown didnt want to talk about ,there assistant was quick enough to go straight to wenger at half time and start giving it,and that was when they were winning . and keep laughing in wenger face like little school boys in the first half, second half different story ,on the pitch and id like to of seen there faces in the tunnel at the end of the game we wiped them silly little smiles of there faces

Hey GP, you don’t understand the offside rule. The fact that the keeper touches the ball doesn’t immediately cancel out offsides (or all rebounds to players who were originally offside would be legitimate, and we know they aren’t). Gallas was offside when Djourou touched the ball on; and the rules say he gained an advantage from being offside at that moment. Here’s the official rule:

“Gaining an advantage by being in that position means playing a ball that rebounds to him off a post or the crossbar having been in an offside position or playing a ball that rebounds to him off an opponent having been in an offside position.”

In effect, Djourou’s pass rebounded to Gallas off the keeper, Gallas having been in an offside position.

Don’t really care, though. We deserved the win and I reckon the linesman and referee gave the benefit of the doubt to the attacking side, for once. And anything is good if it upsets Phil Brown.

  34. Cheers for those stats Ole Gunner, I was going to say the same thing, a fluke (but perfectly legitimate) goal by them was all they really offered.

If Cesc didn’t spit, and from what I can tell there is no evidence that he did then we shouldn’t let it be, we should challenge Brown all the way to retract the statement. Seems to me he changed his story, first the incident took place on the pitch and then all of a sudden it was in the tunnel.

  35. “intercepting a stray backside”, heh.

  36. [...] First of all check out Arsenalist for the highlights, some great comments from East Lower and Goodplaya and a top sweary rant from Arseblogger. I was going to say “Spitting Mad” too. [...]

  37. Anyone thought we should have a penalty when Zayatte lunged into Walcott. I thought that 2 feet off the ground was dangerous play.

  38. Shows you the calabre of the man, when just before Brown was to be intervewed by Satanta, the camara caught him ‘doing his hair’ coupld you imagine ‘Shanks’ doing that?

  39. I am absolutely gobsmacked and bloody seething

Filth Brown is an utter tosser, his teams timewasting was a disgrace. He is dispiccable, look at Wenger at the final whistle, he looks 3 times to acknowledge the penis but Brown made no effort whatsoever. The “what the club is all about” comment is beyond contempt coming from a man who humiliated his own players at Wigan with his half time dressing down. Words fail me, I don’t believe the Cesc accusation for one second. Put your own house in order mate, have a good look at yourself in the mirror you wanker.

  40. The only thing I am mad about is that someone like Phil Brown could talk about the greatest club with the greatest standards in world as though they were down at his level. What AFC are all about mate is trying to do everthing within the law to play great football because it is an entertainment that we pay for. AFc are know throughout the world as the most ethical club anywhere. No tapping up or bribery unlike a few Northern clubs we all hate. So, Phil , get a grip and sellotape up your mouth and Hortons.

  41. Nice article. I am a massive gooner and love fabregas. But spitting is not on. It is terrible, and if he did do it he should have then book thrown at him.

  42. I disagree goodplaya - spitting at someone is a reprehensible act. However I’m prepared to give Fab the benefit of the doubt and assume he didnt do it unless its proven otherwise

  43. Stevie Morrow is God

Good article GP. I didn’t think that Gallas was offside. I don’t think the keeper’s punch can be considered a rebound, just a crap punch, and as a result played Gallas onside. But then again I’m too lazy and biased to care. In relation to the spitting, I can’t really see him doing it. Someone asked why they would make it up - simple to create the impression that this was a bad tempered match, that Arsenal were behind the aggro, so that they will not be fined or punished by the FA for the number of cards they received. Its very calculated behaviour to throw the spotlight onto us.

  44. I’d just like to say: great writing! It’s exactly how I feel and Brown is a soar loser. Maybe Cesc spit on the ground and it hit the FOOT of his assistent.

Can you f*cking believe it, a FOOT, who gives a crap about that. Even if he did it (which I doubt). making all the fuss about spitting on a foot. Brown is ridiculous.

  45. I also believe that Gallas was not offside. The goalkeeper did not just touch the ball, but flipped it up in the air, so whatever DJourou had done and wherever Gallas was when he did it ,was irrelevant. It is the same as a backpass.

Also, near the end when Djorou was injured in the box, the replay clearly showed that he was kicked by a defender in the leg. A definite penalty.

When I saw the team, with Song and Diaby in central midfield, I knew we would struggle, as there was no pace and no guile in midfield. When Nasri came on it was an amazing transformation.

What can one say about Arshavin. He was brilliant last night and where are the Bendtner haters now? AS soon as he can relax when the time comes to shnoot, he will be better than Adebayor, who needs 10 chances to score one goal.

  46. Agree with the two-footed lunges bit that a couple of commentors highlighted. I saw at least two that were bookable but the commentators said, “No intent”. Mind reading is now a prerequisite for commentators.

The commentary was biased, as it was in the Blackburn game. The attitude of most “experts” and commentators towards Arsenal is beyond belief. (In Asia, on ESPN-Star Sports we have the Arsenal lover, Steve Macmahon

After watching Hull waste time last night, I hope that they go down and West Brom, who play football, stays up.

Regarding Fab4 spitting, Brown seems to be contradicting himself more than anything. Will Brown get into trouble if the FA finds out that nothing happened? Doubt it.

About AW not shaking his hands, he went towards the tunnel, while Phil Brown went on to the pitch. What’s he supposed to do: wait for him for 10 minutes? Get real.

We’re in the semi-final of the FA cup. Fab4 and Eduardo will probably be fit to play. Woo hoo.

  47. In all the impassioned comment about spitting and offside Mr Brown (and every other observer it seems ) failed to mention the 6 yellow cards picked up by the Hull players. Only one for Arsenal I think. A fair comment on the relative sportsmanship of the two sides.
A very encouraging feature of the Hull and Blackburn games has been the way our players have ignored the often violent assaults to which they have been subjected and just got up and got on with it.

  48. Two for us (Gallas and Nasri) - both for their first fouls of the game.

  49. Scarborough Gunner

i have had nothing but respect and good wishes for Hull City this season, up until a few weeks ago when things started to turn for them, Then we saw Browns true colours an Allerdyce side kick! Great game last nite for 13 mins, then Hull scored and time wasting and Bolton/Blackburn tactics kicked in! As for Brown seeing anything in the tunnel I doubt that, surely he rushed to the dressing room to look at himself in the mirror??????

  50. A stray backside? Surely some mishstake.. ;-)

  51. i find it laughable that this alleged incident will garner all the headlines for the next fortnight as people seem to be under the impression that saliva breaks bones. i heard one bloke on five live this morning claiming hed rather be hit than spat at - well ive had people spit at me and ive been punched in the face before and i know which one id rather. interestingly enough where have all the hacks been when it comes to talking about diouf’s challenge on almunia on saturday?

  52. well said GP

  53. Phil Browns comment: “For their club captain - Cesc Fabregas - to spit at my assistant-manager at the end of the game just shows you what this club is about.” HOW DARE HE. For a Manager to instruct his team to deliberately waste time, play negative football and then contradict himself about a spitting incedent (which pretty much amounts to lying) shows me what Phil Brown is all about. I feel sorry for Hull fans because they deserve better and I think Mr Brown should resign as Manager immediately for his disgraceful comments. The pressure of The Premier league is clearly getting to him and I don’t blame a gentleman like Arsene Wenger for not shaking his slimy little hand. It probably smells of stale piss and roll-ups.

  54. PHIL BROWN IS A LIAR:

    Check out this photo:

    http://images.rivals.net/08/09/460×238/Arsene-Wenger-and-Phil-Brown_1237515.jpg

That photo should be plastered on all Arsenal blogs and the official site to disprove Brown’s claim that AW “never” shakes his hand, and to prove that his word is worthless.

  55. Phil Brown is a disgrace. From the moment Hull scored, they started their time wasting tactics. That their keeper eventually got booked for it had nothing to do with Wenger’s protests and everything to do with the ref finally getting tired of the rubbish.

Now, as for Phil Brown’s complaints about Cesc being on the pitch AFTER the final whistle and what he was wearing, I will be sending him the bill for the repairs my jaw needed after reading that drivel. Are you fucking kidding me?! What Cesc was wearing? And how he (the Club Captain, by the way) came onto the pitch when the game was done? Brown is an asshole.

I thought Gallas was offside, but after having endured their bullshit time wasting antics, I celebrated that goal as hard as any other.

    FUCK PHIL BROWN’S ASSISTANT!
    FUCK HULL CITY!
AND FUCK YOU VERY MUCH PHIL BROWN!

  56. Phil Brown is a lying cunt

The man has clearly lost it and should shut the fuck up and concentrating on keeping his time wasting bullshit team in the PL. They refused to play football and was rightfully kicked out of the cup. Shut up and get on with it. End of story.

  57. Completely agree with everything said in the article.

I think Mr. Phil Brown should be serving himself up some lovely humble pie.

“Think that’s what this club is all about”

Never heard a statement laced with more incorrect bullshit than that. Even if cesc did spit at the assistant coach and wenger did put pressure on the referee into making decisions. Which is highly unlikely in both incidents, that is purely a one off. So for him to come out and talk utter “shite” is “dizgrazeful” in the words of the great man himself.

  58. This is brilliant - Phil Brown sounds like a grade A fucking cunt.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/7950507.stm

On Cesc Fab’s ‘incident’ ‘who else saw it? - Oh I don’t know’

On FAB4 - ‘ I certainly wouldn’t have the kid at my football club’.

    What a cunt.

  59. So Brown is a lying tw*t look at the attached picture. Shows him shaking hands with Arsene in Sep which he said never happened. So if lies about that what else will lie about.

    http:// images.rivals.net/08/09/460×238/Arsene-Wenger-and-Phil-Brown_1237515.jpg

  60. Walt Disney should start working on a remake of “Horton Hears a Who” and call the sequel “Horton Hears a Boo.” Should be a hit.

  61. anyone witness phil brown stick 2 fingers up at the crowd yesterday, i thought he did, during his arm waving session, when his back was turned towards the pitch, and his face looking down on the floor, its one of those did i see it moments….

apparantly during the half-time interval, wenger and horton had session as well, according to some sources…

I really hope hull go down….. shit town, shit club…..

  62. The whole spitting thing is all very dubious in my opinion. First Brown said it happened on the pitch and so Setanta then tried some footage which showed nothing, then he says it happened in the tunnel and that Fabregas spat at Horton’s feet. Why would somebody spit at another’s feet it’s harder to aim at and it negates the whole purpose of spitting at a person. It sounds rubbish to me. What’s more likely is either a lie or something accidental.
Phil Brown acts most of the time like a bull anyway and what’s with him wearing an ear piece when he’s in the dug out? I think the guy takes himself way too seriously if I’m honest. Disrespecting our club.

  63. Brown can go eat a bag of dicks. In the interview he says that he ‘isn’t one to cry over spilt milk’ and ‘doesn’t want to make a mountain out of a molehill’, even though that is precisely what he proceeds to do. As far as the handshake, Brown wants to make Wenger stand there and wait for him, which is a form of trying to establish ‘dominance’ over Wenger, which Wenger recognized immediately and dismissed. Brown a bullying egomaniac who wants to see his name in the paper, and whining about this is the only way he can keep anyone interested. He thinks he has ‘got up the noses’ of Arsenal, but of course he is grossly overestimating his own importance, and creating a crisis that doesn’t exist - that there is some sort of conspiracy against poor little upstart Hull. Thanfully we only have to pay attention to this piece of shit 2 or 3x per season.

  64. Funniest quote of football eason so far from Brown :

‘I could go on but I’m not one for crying over spilt milk’

Hilarious. You couldn’t shut him up about it.Spiteful prick. Then again, what else do you expect from someone who learned his ’style’ of management from Fat fucking Sam.I would love them to go down.(Bolton & Blackburn would be nice too)

I have no problem with teams parking 10-men behind the ball & playing for 0-0; it’s up to us to get around them imo. (and I think it’s quite embarrassing when Wenger moans about it to be honest) But this crap of taking up to 30 seconds for each free,kick-out,throw-in…..rubbish.
If Riley had any balls he wouldn’t have needed an hour of Wenger moaning to do something about it.

Funny how at the time he talked about Cesc spitting at Horton. Cue images of Cesc spitting straight in his face. Now apparently he spat at his feet. This all smacks of Mourihno’s ‘I saw ref go into Barca dressing room’ & then having to admit after that he was told about it & didn’t see it at all…..

And as Chris pointed out we had a player booked for a quite brilliant tackle & they nearly went 2-0 up as a result. Yeah, ref gave us everything alright…….

And as for Setanta’s post-match interviews. You’re journalists; you’re supposed to be unbiased. Could they possibly have made it more clear how much they adore Brown & how hard they were trying to get Wenger to trip himself up ???

Finally……money, will, whoever…are your lives really so sad that you have to keep pretending to be me ????? Matt, not sure I should be embarrassed that you so obviously knew it wasn’t me insulting you :-)

  65. Why does the English media (TV&papers) give so much shrift to people like Brown and Horton? I may be biased (being a season ticket holder for over 30 years) but sitting in the upper tier 4 rows from the front almost directly behing the away ‘techinical area’ which for those pricks last night was half the pitch! their ‘assistant manager’ was out of his box from the first minute! he and Brown were taking the piss out of our bench from the moment they ’scored’ with their first of two shots on target all night! as they had in excess of twelve people (including subs) on their bench can someone please explain to me why the captain of our club is not allowed to sit on our bench. who the fuck allowed you Phil Brown to make the rules up?! also time wasting is a double edged sword that will cut your bollocks off you geordie wanker! yet still allowed you 5 minutes of ‘injury’ time to try and nick an equaliser (some chance!) after you had been turned over. HOW DARE YOU TRY AND DENIGRATE ARSENAL FOOTBALL CLUN YOU UNGRACIOUS STUDENT OF ALLARDYCE! I HOP EYOU AND YOURS ARE PROUD IN THE GREY LIGHT OF DAY OF YOUR TEAM’S ACTIONS AND YOUR COMMENTS LAST NIGHT, YOU IMMATURE, CRUDE, IGNORANT LITTLE MAN.

  66. One last comment from Fat Sam’s love child…….’You know you’re not going to get the rub of the green when you come to places like the Emirates.’

Like oh I don’t know…..Arsenal having a perfectly good goal disallowed for no apparent reason. i.e. Adebayor when they beat us 2-1. No doubt if Wenger had brought that up he would have been a bad loser eh Phil, not like you of course…..

  67. my aplogies for the spelling of CLUB as CLUN and HOP EYOU is supposed to be HOPE YOU but there again how would that blind jaundiced view from their manager ever understand what I was trying to say!

  68. DPK, i love the idea of PB being Fat Sam Walrus Head’s love child but who would have spwaned such an abomination?!……sorry I have the answer……BRIAN HORTON!!!!!

  69. DPK I agree with all you’ve written but in all honesty being one up was the best Hull could hope for and once they got there their best bet was to hold the result rather than trying to score and expose themselves. Italian teams have shown the way and they got really successful with their all-out defensive and time wasting tactics in the past. Compared to them Hull was not even half as bad (or half as good depending on how you see it). Almost all teams do it, the best ones do it much later in the game that’s all. When we were 4-2 against Tottenham last fall, I wished we’d known how to waste time…

Hull changing their story is just an admission of falsehood. I hope the FA won’t let it pass.

Oh and Money loves his little trick but with you one-liners won’t do it ;-)

  70. man matt your a bumlick you believe everything dpk says even if he talks bullshit. why hasnt anyone commmented on barmbys goal that was quite a finish

  71. FLAMNINMANIAC

  72. not me this time

  73. Brown is clearly at the edge of a nervous breakdown.

  74. I thought Arsenal shd have at least a penalty in the game. Anyway I don’t have faith in the bald eagle referee.Maybe to atone for that ,Gallas goal was not deemed offside.Remember it was this same ref who had caused the gunners much pain in the past eg50th game of 2004-05 when he gave the

ed faced/nosed a penalty althought the offence took place outsied the box.

On the subject of violent tackles has it occurred to gunner fans,Diaby and Eduardo were put out of

action for considerable periods of time. Why hasn’t it happened to Rooney/Ronaldo/Torres/Drogba/

Keeane to name a few. Is there a conspiracy?

    You never know.

  75. agreed, it reminds me of the mourinho tunnel incident. Even to the point of changing the story between the manager saw it or the assistant manager saw it

this changing the story.. and arseblogs demo of browns barefaced lies on previous handshaking.. not making the man sound credible is it?

Now the story is that cesc spat at horton’s feet. What with the emerging picture of Brown/Horton’s esculating cnutliness over the game as the cause that actually sounds a bit more believable.. but cescs words and browns lack of credibility still make me think ‘no’.

  76. You forgot to mention, against tha same Hull team in the first game, Botang touched the ball on to Ade who promtply put it into the the and it was rule out. The rule states when a defender or the opposing player last touches the ball, the striker picks it up and scores, it’s a legal goal.

Watching the replays of Tuesday’s FA Cup game Arseal v. Hull, from different angles the ball came off the back of Djuorou’s head, onto the Keepers fist/hand to Gallas, who alertly backheaded the ball into Hull goal. Therefore Gallas was NOT offside.

  78. Everyone’s entitled to an emtional outburst. If Brown comes out and admits that he was cuntish, then good luck to him.

  79. Hi, nice post. I have been thinking about this topic,so thanks for writing. I’ll certainly be coming back to your posts.

  221. Thanks for posting this article. I’m definitely frustrated with struggling to search out pertinent and intelligent commentary on this subject. Everybody now goes to the very far extremes to either drive home their viewpoint that either: everyone else in the planet is wrong, or two that everyone but them does not really understand the situation. Many thanks for your succinct, relevant insight.

  412. China and Russia put the blame on some screwed up experiments of US for the earthquake that happened in Haiti.
Chinese and Russian Military scientists, these reports say, are concurring with Canadian researcher, and former Asia-Pacific Bureau Chief of Forbes Magazine, Benjamin Fulford, who in a very disturbing video released from his Japanese offices to the American public, details how the United States attacked China by the firing of a 90 Million Volt Shockwave from the Americans High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) facilities in Alaska
If we can recollect a previous news when US blamed Russia for the earthquake in Georgio. What do you guys think? Is it really possible to create an earthquake by humans?
I came across this article about Haiti Earthquake in some blog it seems very interesting, but conspiracy theories have always been there.
