Apply the Rooney test to Eduardo

THE Rooney test goes like this:

Had the game been the World Cup quarter-final, had Eduardo been Rooney and had Taylor been an unknown playing for any other country, would there be a single ounce of sympathy for the defender?

    Not a chance.

  2. Arsenal Credit Card Says:

The double standard is as horrible as the injury itself.

Shame to the media and managers.

It doesn’t have to be a world cup for the test. The EPL itslef is good enough.

Remember how Rooney penalty cheat ended Arsenal unbeaten run?

Anyone talking about Rooney beaing a cheater? Everyone condone his cheating behaviour.

Remember when Fabregas causing Everton’s Arteta a 2nd yellow? Everyone in the media screamed that he is a nig cheater.

The double standard is obvious. It’s such a shame.

I am so happy Crotia teach the English how to play football in Wembley.

  3. Ade Aofolaju Says:

It’s such a shame that the media seem to be focusing more on Arsene’s comments, which he has retracted, rather than on taylor’s tackle. I personally belive that they don’t care about Eduardo because he’s not English.

  4. Pancho Says:

the double standards are quite shocking ..you critisise Rooney for Cheating ..yet last weekend Adebayor was booked for a blantant dive..if you want to take the moral highground make sure your own house is in order first

  5. jimmy Says:

pancho you idiot-the point is not that he cheated, it’s that when a foreign player does it they get treated far worse.

  6. Fab4 Says:

Pancho - I don’t remember one Arsenal fan who has condoned Adebayor’s dive the other week. You seem to be missing the point Goodplaya is trying to make. The outrage that would have followed had Rooney been the victim would have been unending. The media seem to be trying to make Wenger and Gallas the villains of the whole episode.

  7. Reaz Mru Says:

Pancho , Adebayor got a yellow card while Rooney got a penalty.

The so called demise of English football has at is core its xenophobic (and sometimes plain racist) British journalists.

What goodplaya is saying swap Edouardo for Rooney - and Taylor for, say, Eboue, and the media would portray this whole story a lot differently.

  8. Pancho Says:

“Remember how Rooney penalty cheat ended Arsenal unbeaten run?”

did the first poster not say this then …..IDIOT!!!!

  9. Acat Says:

the double standard is obvious. without wanting to wish harm on anyone but it would be really “great” to see if the reaction would be the same when one of england’s stars get crocked like that.

the media is focusing on the aftermath, the comments made by wenger and gallas’ behaviour. why don’t they focus on trying to make the game safer for those who really want to play football.

  10. Pancho Says:

I seem to remember Tierry Henry trying to “do” David Weir gainst everton a couple fo seasons ago ..double standards..never!!

    http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=2o1EyhMw7h4

  11. Pancho Says:

Wenger “‘People believe that to beat Arsenal you have to kick Arsenal.”…oh the hypocrite..Gallas and Flamini would never do that would they ?

  12. austrian Gooner Says:

    As an Austrian, I have to say, I’m shocked by the english media; I know they are and always have been a hypocrite and malicious bunch of cunts, but what is now going on is incredible;

it seems the overreaction from Wenger and the childish behaviour from Gallas were FAR FAR WORSE than Edu becoming nearly a cripple.

in every paper they slag off those two, but the cunt taylor “didn’t mean it” and “he’s a good boy” and shit like that, I can’t believe, it’s hard to take, even when being some thousand kilometers away from you

and Pancho, it’s not about cheating, it’s about the double standards and hidden racism in the media

  13. Arselicked Says:

Pancho is just here to change the subject, he doesn’t care about what has just happened, leave him alone.

  14. Gooner Says:

Pancho, fuck off you manc cunt ! What part of Surrey do you live in ?

  15. Iceberg Says:

Fuck you, Pancho. Is Galla’s kick at Nani career threatening? Did Flamini not win the ball from Nani?

FUCK YOU, you bloody blind shit wanker. You’re not welcome in Arsenal’s blogsphere.

Both you and Taylor ought to rot in Hell.

  16. Pancho Says:

“Pancho, fuck off you manc cunt ! What part of Surrey do you live in ”

you really betray your stupidity with that contraditory statement

  17. MrManU Says:

GOONERS sucks, and we are coming to get ya..
    Come on you reds…..

  18. MrManU Says:

    Cheer up Eduardo

  19. Paul (Witham Gooner) Says:

The press are a bunch fergie arse lickers. They all predicted we would be crap this season and they dont like it. If you want a comparisson go back to the chelsea game and remember the fuss they made of the eboue tackle on terry. A million miles from the tackle (if you can call it that) on saturday.

  20. Anonymous Says:

Pancho, you clearly lack the intelligence to argue this point about double standards!!Use your brain before you use your mouth to comment!Arsenal fans were annoyed by Adebayor’s dive last weekend, make no mistakes about that. What happened to Eduado is shocking and if it was Rooney or Lampard in the same situation and the tackle made by a foreign player, you can bet all your money that the press will be hounding that foreign player who made the tackle that has potentially ended the career of a bright engliah star! That is clearly the point here you fool!!

  21. Goonoo Says:

Pancho - you’ve had your fun and wound a couple of us up. Now eff off unless you’ve got anything intelligent to contribute.

  22. Pancho Says:

The “point ” I originally responded to was this “”Remember how Rooney penalty cheat ended Arsenal unbeaten run”…I merely pointed out the hypocrisy.. as for intelligence..well we dont know each other so you cant really have an qualified view can you? .. I realise that your team is imploding , your players are argueing and fighting amongst themselves and the total humiliation last weekend ..not to mention the way your team tried to kick us off the park, has left Arsenal fans feeling a little upset ..a case of the emperors new clothes…but dont resort to name calling ..its sooo … low brow

  23. Mr Wendel Says:

I seem to remember both David Busst (and Djibril Cisse to a certain extent) suffering similar horrific injuries but there was no outcry of a terrible tackle because it was just a shocking and very unfortunate accident. I didn’t even think Taylor’s tackle was worthy of a sending off and feel that the ref only did so because he saw Eduardo’s sickening injury and decided it must be a red card. As for Gallas’ petulance at the end of the match, I think it was outrageous that the Arsenal captain was sulking like a little schoolboy who didnt get his own way - what sort of an example is he setting to his young and impressionable squad? He is the only one who has the experience of winning a league title so he should be doing the completely the opposite to what he did.

  24. Goon Says:

Pancho is clearly the biggest idiot of all here, he is not worth anyone of us gooners’ time… and mrmanu, if arsenal sucks, tell me why we’re still 3 points above you now? i rest my case.

  25. Pancho Says:

on what basis do you claim me to be “the biggest idiot” when there are many on here who have a more worthy claim to that title..after all its not me restorting to name calling is it?… as for 3 points clear..well its not 5 any more is it? and a trip to the CHAMPIONS to come

  26. alex Says:

check out this site fellow gooners
    http://www.up-yours-fergie.blogspot.com/

  27. Goon Says:

pancho u seem to be suffering from memory loss on top of ur idiosy. u clearly typed the word “IDIOT” in ur earlier posts. i rest my case again.

and oh, u still havent answered why we’re still above u. be it 5,3 or even 1 point - fact is, we’re above u.

    twat.

  28. Vinz Says:

Pancho, It is better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid, than to open it and remove all doubt.

  29. shooy Says:

Whereas, Pancho, you just display your stupidity for all to see.

  30. lutman Says:

if it was an arsenal player wenger wouldn’t have seen it

  31. Pancho Says:

“and oh, u still havent answered why we’re still above u. be it 5,3 or even 1 point - fact is, we’re above u”…. well done youre the champions of February..you can claim your trophy now..its the same one awarded to Liverpool for being champions of Sept….

I realise that its been quite a few yrs since you won any silverware, bit boasting of being 3 points clear in feb is clutching at straws,,,especially when your form is poor , the team is falling apart and you still have to visit the home of the real CHAMPIONS..where only a week ago you were humiliated

Guys read that doctors analysis and please. just hope edu comes back. his injury has made me have a sick weekend and FLAM is right win it for him and these guys should cut out the fucking double standards. that cunt Hansen and the fuck on thesun web

  33. shooy Says:

Oh Mr Wendel, please try some original thinking instead of regurgitating what you’ve heard and read in the media.

  34. shooy Says:

lutman - that was just pathetic.

  35. otariq Says:

This is just typical of the English press. If this kind of foul was committed on Wayne Rooney the English Press would be in an uproar (You would all call for the banning of non English players). This kind of injury was a long time coming. Remember Abou Diaby about two years ago, this is the second time in two years an Arsenal player have suffered such injury. Arsene is correct when he said that there is a notion out there that to defeat Arsenal is to kick Arsenal. The Manager of Birmingham state before the game that they would have to put steel to Arsenal and this is exactly what Matt Taylor did to Da Silva. I don’t think he intended to hurt the lad but when managers request of there player to be physical with another team, what do you expect to happen?
Sorry to say but your brand of Football is now close to Rugby. This is exactly why Jose Reyes left the Premiership because of the brutality.
As much as I love Arsenal I think I will now turn my attention to the Spanish league where they play real football not American Football.

I hate to say this but the only why this will change in the Premiership is if Wayne Rooney or some other English boy is injury in such a manner.

You should have shown the injury from the moment Taylor leaped at Da Silva and tell me if he did not intend to put Steel to the Lad like his Manager requested.

  36. Blog Head Says:

I thought Gallas was hilarious, sitting in the middle of the pitch on his own. What the fuck was that shit? I expected someone to start shouting ‘William!!, William!!, Your dinners ready!!’

  37. Arselicked Says:

Pancho is winning, he came here to change the subject and he is succeeding. People are beginning to stop comparing the press, pundits, commentators, and other Panchos reactions to the issue “if it had been Rooney whose leg was broken like that”.

  38. kh Says:

It’s shocking how some cunts supporting other clubs have come out to provoke Arsenal fans in the light of these events.

Just goes to show how much those cunts lack class.

    Pancho, you are a cunt.

    Just shut it, really.

  39. j-thug Says:

you arsenal fans are clutching at any straws that take the attention away from the fact your team is self imploding and quibbling like little girls, it was inevitable. it is 3 points yes but what really matters is where you will be come the end of the season, and thats behind united, We all know what the media is like so why get annoyed, you just experience it more because you have no english players. pancho is geezer. Arsenal are childish contradictory hypocrites.

  40. steve Says:

hold on otariq its all right in saying different teams are out to get arsenal by kicking them and stopping how they play but I think arsenal don’t know how to play in a different way like man united. Also you was not complaining when nani was targeted by the arsenal players by gallas, hoyte and flamini you woudn’t have email rubbished then would you

  41. Pancho Says:

you have short memories..when Alan Smith had a similar tragic accident at liverpool , I dont rememebr SAF acting like wenger…”Just goes to show how much those cunts lack class”…

  42. j-thug Says:

oh and i do wish eduado a speedy and full return, he is a good lad and he seems like a nice and not arrogant guy

  43. steve Says:

the eduardo injury just shows how arsenal players are target but so are man united players as well like rooney, ranaldo, nani all of man united players that why sir alex said that refrees should give more protection to the players

  44. shooy Says:

Yeh you’re right Pancho, we’re nobodies with nothing to look forward to, wallowing in our humiliation and mediocrity. How dare we dream of being champions ahead of the all conquering “real CHAMPIONS”. Your arrogance is breathtaking

  45. Pancho Says:

its big of you to admit it… as for arrogance, which team self styled themsleves as “invincable”

  46. steve Says:

arsenal credit card should shut their stinking mouths. so what if the rooney penalty wasn’t a penalty do you remember when adebayor tried to dive to get a penalty at old trafford shocking arsenal football club is a disgrace.

  47. Mr Wendel Says:

Shooy, why don’t you actually engage your brain (if applicable) form an opinion of your own and put it on here rather than slating those who actually have one…or is that too much for you??

  48. steve Says:

but hold on pancho who said that arsenal were going to win any silver ware this season get real.

  49. Arselicked Says:

Pancho, Smith was injured by the ball from Gerrard’s free kick, what else was there top say following that?

  50. steve Says:

wendel why are chatting shit for what was your opinion on this. Iam chatting about facts stop chatting shit about fiction dumbo

  51. Mico Says:

I think you all should be ashamed of yourselves! To try and turn such an awfull injury for that poor lad into an extention of your obvious dislike for a Manchester United player is quite sickening!

You are feeding on each others blood lust, blaming the media for your sickening frenzy. Wenger realised he had gone too far, probably after coming to the conclusion that Taylor had not intended to hurt the lad, and was gracious enough to retract his earlier statement. Now you guys are inventing a hypothetical situation to send more bile United’s way.

You say to Pancho he has missed the point, but I don’t think anyone but you lot can manage to do that after reading this sick pile of *shite. All the best to Eduardo and we all in Manchester hope he makes a full recovery.

Another great game at the weekend by one of the hardest working and most honest players in the league, Mr. Rooney, and another petulant and pathetic tantrum by an Arsenal player, one of a long line i must say, and he’s meant to be your ‘captain’. Gallas has truly found his spiritual home hasn’t he!

  52. steve Says:

arselicked you should get out of this conversation straight why are you involve.

  53. Blog Head Says:

William!!, William!!, tuck your shirt in!!!!

  54. sydney_rob Says:

Arsenal have always been a bunch of hypopcites.

I don’t believe taylor meant to hurt Edwardo, tackles like that happen every week, the results of this particular tackle were unfortunate.

When Martin Keown was making tackles like this every week, Wenger didnt see them.

I really don,t know how English people can condon the hypocriotical Wenger and his almost exclusively non english team.

Go and play in France Arsenal because your non english hypocritical one eyed views should not be allowed in a civilised country.

  55. Arselicked Says:

    Steve;

I love Arsenal and i hate to see players injured the way that Eduardo was injured. The doctor’s report says that it was only the quick response of the medical team that prevented him from being amputated.

The media is turning a blind eye, we are trying to talk about it but Pancho is here to change the subject. I believe that players should be protected irrespective of which team they play for or where they are coming from. I don’t see that happening right now.

  56. Berti Says:

Hi Guys, now I am by no means an Arsenal supporter but what happened to Eduardo is a real shame. The main focus should be.. Will he be able to play again (i really hope so, but i have a bad feeling).

Now lets examine the double standards issue, 1.how many of you who left the comment are british?
2.How many of you live in England?
3.In which country is the EPL played?
4.If a player like Lamps, rooney or terry got injured wouldn’t it hurt the national side?
5.If one of the aforementioned got injured by a foreigner wouldn’t that be construed as an attack on an englishman?

Whilst, yes i do agree with you about the double standards issue you must understand that arsenal are considered (not by gooners) not as an English team but a United Nations team consisted by only 1 Englishman and the rest are all foreigners.

The general sentiment of the public is as described above and therefore you cannot expect the media to go against the general public.

Now as for tackle, with all due respect it wasn’t that bad of a tackle. I’ve watched it over and over again, if eduardo hadn’t broken his leg the ref would have (or rather should have) issued a yellow. I understand Wengers comments he was infuriated cause of what he had just witnessed and the level of injury sustained (at least he saw this for once, just joking guys) at least he was man enough to back track from his comments.

Finally I think that Eduardo might be back but only after alot of work, and if he does come back he will be sold to a lower level team, these injuries are very hard to come back from and you are never of the same level.

Good luck eduardo may your injury pass quickly.

  57. Blog Head Says:

The reason you drew though was because of terrible finishing from Adebeyor, and terrible defending from Clichy, not because of the bad tackles

  58. Arselicked Says:

    Berti;

The tackle was as bad as they come, check this out:

  59. fourstar Says:

    Good grief. Stop it ladies.

    1) The challenge was awful, end of. If the FA want to stamp (no pun intended) that out of the game they might have to make Taylor a scapegoat, intent or not. We will see.

    2) We are currently three points ahead of Manchester United, with 11 games until the end of the season. That is fact. And we will find out at the END of the season who are the champions, not before. Don’t rise to the silly baiting.

    3) There is a difference between diving for a penalty (or not) and ending someone’s career. Stop changing the subject (and yes, I can see that the second commenter mentioned it, thank you very much)

    4) I hope Eduardo recovers.

  60. Arthur The Gooner Says:

    Steve and Pancho

First of all if you want to change the subject of this blog I ask to leave this blog and go else where you can shout abuse and spark argumentsa about silverware and Arsenal credit card etc!!! You simply show what level of intelligence you have and to me it seems below none!

You have no sympathy and some Gooners here too have been drawn in a debate that should only stck to what was being asked at the first place. This is no rant tantrum blog go away with your comments and suggestions you’re making me sick. Remember the season aint over yet!

    Keep it Goonerish!

  61. fourstar Says:

@Berti: unfortunately, old fruit, you are talking out of your hat; that tackle was a sending off offence - shin high, studs showing, red card, it’s in the rules. Go and take another look, you are plain wrong.

  62. Will 2000 Says:

Bad tackles, bad finishing, bad defending, bad refereeing and a very bad day all round. Except for Theo of course…

No point rising to pancho (and definitely no point gloating in february…that’s a spurs type thing to do). It’s going to be tight all the way, but if pancho thinks our team is imploding, he’s in for a nasty surprise. I’m certain of that.

  63. Berti Says:

    @Fourstar:

Well I guess you must be some sort of match official. We must agree to disagree as i am taking an unbiased view but evidently you must be some sort of Arsenal fan with blinders on.

  64. Easter Leg Says:

Pancho, sydney Rob (the Cretin), and all the other Salford United oafs, go and indulge in your usual self-congratulatory reach-around self-abuse that goes on in your forum pages. The premise of the post is simple; and the answer is equally simple. You could substitute Rooney’s name with pretty much any English player lauded by the media and the answer would be the same. By the sydney rob (the Cretin), take your casual racism and stick it up your festering 4rse, you goona berry eating missing link. You personally should make reparations to the indigineous aboriginal populace immediately, you small-minded provincial slab-drinking dunny-lid licker.

  65. Blog Head Says:

Definitly a sending off, Eduardo is quick though and Taylor’s not known as a dirty player so you have to give him the benifit of the doubt. Apparently he’s gutted about it and has gone to see him in hospital which says alot. I have to say though, if you lot had held on for the win, I dont think Wenger would have been half as angry

  66. REVELZ Says:

    Fucking morons

  67. codio Says:

Whats all this shit from the arsehole fc.Once more they’re the poor boys who get kicked. Now I’m very sorry Eduardo got leg broken-terrible injury-but listen to yourselves. How many sent off for and your shirtlifting manager.Only Nani was quicker than Flamini and the other thugees we’d be talking about him instead.Grow up whingers.

  68. Steve Says:

Taylor didnt want to break Eddies leg, of course not, but he intended to ‘let him know Im here’ and intimidate him in the first minutes of the game. It was reckless and he deserves retrospective punishment-certainly more than the 3 games Aliadiere will get for slapping Mascherano. Lets not forget the Aldo Duscher manhunt of 2002, where he dived in two footed but actually won the ball. For a reckless tackle that injured Darling Becks, he was a figure of hate in this country.

Also, the United and Spurs fans on the site, what the fuck are you doing? Why arent you talking about your trouncing of Newcastle or your first cup win of the Millenium? Why come on and say things like, Adebayor dived, when you know that Rooney and Ronaldo and Scholes and Neville and others have also dived in the past? Thats not the issue. Also, Ade was condemned-dont see Rooney being condemned the same way in the media…THATS the point.

  69. Steve Says:

Also, a sly kick from behind on Nani isnt going to maim him, whereas a studs up lunge on a player’s shin will. And Flamini’s tackle was clean…what is the issue there? It was a clean tackle and you STILL whinge about it.

  70. Stephen Says:

    what a stupid article.

You seem more obsessed with Man Utd than your own team.

It was a horrific injury.. Club rivalries should move aside in such matters. It was a bad, very bad but not malicious tackle.

It happens.. Alan Smith, David Busst, Henrik Larsson to name a few more.. THere will more in the future.

You should concentrate more on supporting your team through bad times than making pointless hypothesis’

  71. SULTAN Says:

my fellow gooners and every other person who’s not sure of what happened to eduardo, kindly go to http://www.newsoftheworld.com and you’ll be overwhelmingly convinced that eduardo indeed has suffered an injury that might not allow him to play in a year’s time. pls check it out now. its so sympathetic. i wish edu a quick recovery and we shall keep prayin for him. am very sad at the moment.

  72. Blog Head Says:

    Steve,

Any nations gonna care what happen to there players, it’d be weird if they didn’t. You’ll notice croatia aren’t happy about whats happened to De silva.

Steve listen to yourself, you sound like a toad

  73. Kem Says:

You only have to look back at what happened in the World Cup. Rooney stamps on Carvalho’s nuts, Ronaldo complains to the referee about it, referee sends Rooney off. But somehow it’s Ronaldo’s fault that Rooney is sent off for stamping on someones nuts ?

Then you have CRETINS like Alan Shearer, ON NATIONAL TV saying that Ronaldo wound Rooney up & winked towards his bench. Shearer then carries onto say that Rooney should punch him when they meet.

    Typical xenophobic bollocks.

  74. Blog Head Says:

    Kem,

Thats just football. How do you explain Arsene Wengers selective vision?

  75. Matt Says:

When Ferreira broke Rooney’s metartarsal there was no backlash towards him.

Both incidents were accidents. Get over it.

  76. Matt Says:

Plus Thatcher was crucified in the press for his assault on Pedro Mendes.

Pedro Mendes isn’t a very traditional English name is it? And I cant imagine there are many Thatcher’s in Croatia.

So there, you can stick your claims of Xenophobia up your arse.

Of course the press arent too likely to slag off Rooney. Weve never had pages and pages of newspapers devoted to his private life, his appearance, or his petulance on the pitch. [/sarcasm]

Fuck off you narrow minded, pathetic, whinging, self-pitying fools.

  77. Arthur The Gooner Says:

Matt clear off mate you aint doing any good! We had the taste of Rooneys life all over the papers so stay quiet please.

And no need to be rude here and tell people to “Fuck Off” they only one that can do that is you! You make me sick mate!

  78. Matt Says:

So telling you to “fuck off” makes you sick, but saying people should “rot in hell” is perfectly acceptable on here?

Face it, you’re a joke, your club is a joke, and Wenger is the biggest joke of them all.

  79. Blog Head Says:

Alexander Hleb’s Haircut - thats the biggest joke of them all

  80. the road ahead forks, which path do you take? « 7am Kickoff Says:

[...] the first, the Rooney Test is a way to make sure you’re staying rational in a football argument.  So, would Arsenal [...]

  81. Easter Leg Says:

Matt, take a look at how much your club spends on players and then tell us how you can call us a joke club. You haven’t had a decent home-grown player come up through your ranks for years. Eagles? Don’t make me laugh. Remember, I’m talking about academy players. Even Mikel couldn’t stand to play for your American Soccer team.

By the way, do you live in Salford, or do you reside in one of the Home Counties? Go and discuss your gripes on your own boards; you can insult Gooners ’til the cows come home on your own boards. I hope you never have to have one of your players taken out like our No. 9 was, but if it does, then you’ll understand how us Gooners feel.

  82. Arthur The Gooner Says:

Thank you Easter Leg, thats exactly my point!

  83. Blog Head Says:

Oh I almost forgot, when was the last time you guys won anything?

  84. Arthur The Gooner Says:

Blog Head go somewhere else you’re not wanted here!

    Adios!

  85. Sammsky Says:

“Remember, I’m talking about academy players. Even Mikel couldn’t stand to play for your American Soccer team.

By the way, do you live in Salford, or do you reside in one of the Home Counties?”

Easter Leg, your argument here is so convaluted that it means your either delusional or extremely thick, or both.

Arsenal, that great London club …. does not have any English players in it!! I thought thst was what the arsenal traditions were. Wasn’t that what George Graham used to say. Oh, you never supported them then, I see!

For the record, there are 3 players homegrown who have playd most games this season: Giggs, Brown, Scholes. and Neville is unfortunately injured and O’Shea & Fletcher contribute valuable squad roles, which you experienced on your recent visit to Old Trafford. And we have other great young players like Pique, Evans or Simpson who have all played in the 1st team this year.

By the way, when was the last time Arsenal had ANY young player come through its ranks from the age of 16 or so apart from Walcott who is so talentless its not funny.

  86. Daniel Says:

    let’s sum it up…

You can’t blame the Devils for they are lead by a Sir who lies and cheats.

This Alex Fuckerson is not only condone by millions of MU supporters, he has the licensed to cheat and lies given by the Queen.

So I guees the media in England must repsect the Queen choice for a Sir.

  87. sydney_rob Says:

Easter leg, I can see you not capable of a rational argument so I will ignore you from now on.

Face it Arsenal are a bunch of hypocrites, thats what gets up everyone elses noses.

Arsenal should go and play in the French leaugue where over indulgent self praise is acceptable, and expected.

  88. Daniel Says:

A gangster slashed a barber hand using a samurai sword. And the barber is unable to ply his trade. The gangster went to jail and ask to pay as long as the barber unable to do his job.

Eduardo foot was tackled by Taylor and he is unable to play football for a long period. That is too optimistic statement. I would say Eduardo career has ended permanently.

So how come this man called Taylor is not trial in court and sent to jail?

His employer should pay Eduardo and Arsenal for as long as he cannot play.

  89. arseman Says:

So Arsenal are imploding are they? Funny, I could’ve sworn Saturday was only the second time in 2008 we’ve dropped points in the league and that Manure fans were crowing about leading the table on goal difference at the beginning of February before spectacularly and hilariously getting done by their City rivals. I mean even Darius Vassell scored against them, how hilarious was that!

  90. arseman Says:

“You seem more obsessed with Man Utd than your own team.”

And you, sirs, seem more obsessed with Arsenal blogs and forums than your own. Oh sorry, I forgot, yours are run by plastics who still think Beckham plays for you lot.

  91. Laguna Seca Says:

“This Alex Fuckerson is not only condone by millions of MU supporters, he has the licensed to cheat and lies given by the Queen.”

No wonder the manure players behave like a king… they got player who do drugs(remember the defender?), who organised sex parties…

they are very much protected by the Queen via Fuckerson

  92. arseman Says:

“Arsenal, that great London club …. does not have any English players in it!!”

Yes that is a fact, and we’re proud of it. Proud of the fact that players are selected based on merit rather than passport. Proud that none of that shower of shite who played Croatia in November or Russia in October are Arsenal players. We’ll have our obscure but skilled and talented Croats, Czechs, Belarussians, thank you.

Come back to me when you can show me an English player who can dribble the ball like Hleb, if not better.

  93. Laguna Seca Says:

“Arsenal, that great London club …. does not have any English players in it!!”

Sound more like Sir Alex to me… not sure why he spent so much on foreigners? And he consider Scotish and irish as English players juz bcoz he got plentiful.. double standard Scots!

    Whisky plz… i am drunk!

  94. Fulham Says:

we will get at least a draw from manure… and hopefully no one broke his leg… but if it happen, it is purely accidental, as usual

  95. Anonymous Says:

Shallwe start voting for the twat of the month…I vote Pancho…anyone else think he is a good contender?

  96. George Boateng Says:

Who is the TWAT OF TH MONTH? The person that posted the blog in the first place, you are, without doubt, THE TWAT OF THE MONTH. Obsessing over how the media perceive football, how is a blog like this solving the age old problem of bias in the media? It just creates more bias and more hatred between rival teams.

Just think footy fans, if the media is being this bias about football, what other news have they been bias about? It can’t be just sport can it?

Wake up and write about something usefull you bunch of idiots.

  97. ck Says:

    Vote for Eduardo>>

Player of the Tournament Carling Cup

    http://www.carlingcup.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Home/0,,11995,00.html

  98. Goon Says:

Pancho u cunt, fergie didnt complain about alan smith’s broken leg cuz he broke it HIMSELF. who’s he to blame? smith himself? u fucking wanking cunt is so stupid its unbelievable. must be the manchester blood in u.

  99. Dave Says:

Fuck off Pancho. Sir Alex is a chequebook manager; nothing more.

Blog Head; it was the Carling Cup - get serious; weren’t you lot saying Jol was gonna make you soar above Arsenal and challenge for the title?

  100. Dave Says:

Who the fuck is English and started with ManUre?

    Scholes
    Brown
    Richardson
    Greening
    John Curtis
    Mark Wilson
    Chris Eagles

ManUre: great training ground for shit English football team.

How the fuck can English people be so stupid as to belive in the Manure/Sky/BBC ethos of exenophobia and ‘up and at ‘em’ football? I EMBARRASSED TO BE ENGLISH.

  101. sickening Says:

i juz watched the repeat of the match, and my body is shivering when Eduardo losing his foot

what made me bloody mad is when i read the newspaper today, there is only one sentence of sympathy for Eduardo and half a page rubbish about protecting the attacker innocent!

it’s not the time to protect the attacker… i hope rooney and ronaldo lose both of their legs against Fulham… then I’ll want to see the reaction of English media

  102. McGooner Says:

Blog Head - When was the last time we won anything? In the summer we won the Emirates Cup and The Ajax Tournament - both about as important as the Carling Cup…

  103. arseman Says:

    @McGooner - good point.

And we did play proper European teams like Inter and Ajax in those two competitions rather than a bunch of Championship cloggers.

  104. Easter Leg Says:

sydney Rob (the Cretin), I don’t think you’re best placed to go about ‘rational argument’ when you seem to have misunderstood my very explicit criticism of your casual racism.

Sammsky, go and read my comment and see if adding Giggs et al is a valid response to my contention. I’ll gift you O’Shea (and Brown!), but not Fletcher as most of your ‘fans’ would struggle to recall his sqaud number.

Returning to the general subject, there’s been a lot of guff about the ’second’ vicitim, Taylor, yesterday and in this morning’s rags. I agree that the death threats are out of order, and I don’t think Taylor went in to the tackle to break Eduardo’s leg, but he went in with the intention to hurt him or put in an introducer. Why was his foot so high? THe ball wasn’t in an upwards bounce. It’s this ’second’ victim bollocks that is a real joke; Taylor will play again after his ban, but Eduardo won’t kick a ball for at least six months. Taylor doesn’t deserve any sympahty, but on the other hand he doesn’t deserve the death threats. We’re not chelski.

  105. gbenga Says:

its a shame that some people are so callous as to forget that a gentleman(eduardo too is not wicked player) is lying waiting at the hospital not sure of ever playing football again. Real shame that i pray that a gentle buttler at the buckhinham palace will accidentally collide with the queen and lead to her death. Then we will say HE NEVER MEANT TO KILL THE QUEEN.

  106. tarikq Says:

witness the media outcry when duscher broke beckhams foot a few years ago, thats the point of this article. All i’m seeing in the media is how bad people feel for taylor, well bollocks to that. if that had been vieira who broke lumplards leg can you imagine what it would have been like? and no wonder we are so far behind everyone in terms of world football if we still promote this up and at em ‘football’ when the rest of the world actually concentrate on things like ball control and passing…

  107. PG Says:

No. And I am increasingly getting incensed by the xenophobic attitude of British journalists. Shame on them especially Sue Mott of The Telegraph. They are supposed to be objective, but they are anything but. I especially hate the twats on Match of the Day.

Forget Rooney test - even if it was Theo Walcott the outrage would have been against Taylor. So it was xenophobia at work rather than the “Anti Arsenal” feeling.

  108. Let's pray Says:

    lets all of us pray…

that on fine day, one big guy come along and break rooney or ronaldo legs…

it’s merely accidental and unfortunate, the exact same way Taylor did to Eduardo

and then we send some sympathies to the big guy… and we say rooney or ronaldo is unfortunate…

try tell this to the Sir liar… he will kill you for sure! he will react worst than Wenger… he will try to kill the big guy thre and there

  109. harryo Says:

the reason arsenal hav no english players is because they are shite

  110. English shit Says:

    harryo.. u r rite… English are shites

juz look at how justin hoyte coz us 3 goals against manure… what a shit!

we should avoid english shit at all cause

  111. Arsenal-sucks Says:

fuck you arse idiots, just because an unfortunate incident happen to Eduardo, you now curse our players to have the same out-come, fucking wankers.

  112. hohoho... Says:

    again… u see this manure… he insit it’s unfortunate….

when his player got this so called “unfortunate”, i am not sure what his repsonse is….

must be like the idiot Sir liar

  113. hehehe... Says:

if it’s unfortunate, why are you so afraid of your manure players ending uop the same fate?

it’s unfortunate, no one want it, but it just happened, one in a million…

ya, so easy to say when it’s nothing to do with you… but when it’s to do with you, you get mad even when the event has yet to happen

    shit manure!

  114. ARSEholes Says:

Whats the difference between Arsenal v AC Milan in The Champions League and poor lil ol Eduardo ? ? ? ?

    Arsenal’s game has 2 legs and . . . . . . . .
    hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
    hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
    hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
    hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  115. arseman Says:

    Typical Manc class eh? Prick

  116. Berti Says:

@ comment 100: you should be ashamed of such a statement…. It must be true then, what goes around comes around !!!!!

  117. Taron Says:

Here is the deal. All media’s have double standars so this arguement is useless. Croatian media I am sure crusified Taylor. Wenger’s comment were so unacceptable because one weak prior to that his team was kicking Man Utd, in which they gor 1 red card and got lucky with Gallas’s kick.

  118. Taron Says:

I just saw it. Comment#100 is a real cunt

  119. sydney_rob Says:

I can see that to be an arsenal supported you must be a hypocrit and have the capacity for self delusion.
